I usually don't care about fireworks but most of the time it comes with friends and a rooftop, which I like. This year was different. Macy's decided to close off the Chelsea Piers to the public and turned it into one giant private party for their BFFs. There was the Kool-Aid man passing out free kool-aids, cooking demonstration by Marc Forgione (he's the newest Iron Chef) presented by KitchenAid, burgers from Bill's Bar & Burgers, freshly made guac and food trucks. The Big Gay Ice Cream guys needed help so I went to help. I would like to say that I suck at math and listening to orders. Doug asked me to take care of taking people's orders and monies. Many times I had to ask the customer to repeat their orders. And I had trouble first adding the total of amount of the cones than subtracting from whatever bills they gave me. Eh..what's $20 minus $9?
But in the end we were all rewarded with front seats to some spectacular fireworks and lobester rolls from Luke's Lobster!
