Montauk

Montauk After 7 years of talking about making the trip out to Montauk, I finally made it! I think what I really wanted to do what to see the lighthouse and also to just get out of the city. Anh, Howard and I started our trek around 8am and didn't get to Montauk till 11am. First thing we did was to get some breakfast then followed by some beach time. I hate the beach and sand actually but it wasn't so bad. I pretty much laid under the umbrella and read. After the beach we drove over to the lighthouse and hiked around there. Before going back to the city, we had dinner at a restaurant called 668.

Overall it was a fantastic day trip but Montauk is super expensive.

Macy's Fireworks I usually don't care about fireworks but most of the time it comes with friends and a rooftop, which I like. This year was different. Macy's decided to close off the Chelsea Piers to the public and turned it into one giant private party for their BFFs. There was the Kool-Aid man passing out free kool-aids, cooking demonstration by Marc Forgione (he's the newest Iron Chef) presented by KitchenAid, burgers from Bill's Bar & Burgers, freshly made guac and food trucks. The Big Gay Ice Cream guys needed help so I went to help. I would like to say that I suck at math and listening to orders. Doug asked me to take care of taking people's orders and monies. Many times I had to ask the customer to repeat their orders. And I had trouble first adding the total of amount of the cones than subtracting from whatever bills they gave me. Eh..what's $20 minus $9?

But in the end we were all rewarded with front seats to some spectacular fireworks and lobester rolls from Luke's Lobster!

Hasselblad Ilford Delta 400

I had mentioned many months ago that I had MacGuyver'd my dad's old Hasselblad (it was getting major light leaks) and I wouldn't know if I had really fixed it or not until I took some photos with it. So finally I took some films to get developed and look(!) I did fix the problem. Should I give the Hasselblad a name? Maybe...Old Man Hassel?

This Ilford Delta 400 film is pretty amazing, I mean me shooting all manual and nothing came out crappy. It's a miracle!
