Last Thanksgiving, Brian showed me a magnificent turkey club sandwich. I love the turkey club because you get turkey and bacon and mayo and lettuce and toasts! But I have to say, Court Street Grocers' version may just be my favorite one.....because it's..........confit dark meat, roast white meat, bacon, mayo, lettuce, triple decker on white.

Confit-ey, turkey-y, bacon-y goodness.

Thursdays Are For Hanging Out With Your Jewish Moms

Or hanging out with your half Jewish/Chinese friend and she will feed and mix drinks for you like crazy.

Homemade Asian challah with turkey patties and spontaneously made cocktails by Molly plus fried dumplings from Melissa. It's nice when friends live so close by.

Wednesdays Are For Beers And Reading

Skylark in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Last night I found myself sitting at the bar at Skylark, drinking a beer and reading 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. Something I should be doing a lot more. The bar was empty except for the owner and her friends and a couple sitting at a table near the door. The speakers were playing some upbeaty music but definitely fine for reading my digital book at the corner of the bar.

I had a dream. I had a dream that one day I'll open a bar, a quiet bar where people can have normal conversations (or even read) without having to yell.
