L'Arc~en~Ciel At Madison Square Garden
Birthday! Yes more birthday talk. This was, might I say, best birthday year ever, when your all time most favorite Japanese rock band hits up NYC for their 20th anniversary world tour near my birthday! L'Arc~en~Ciel, a band I have listened to since high school, along with X Japan and Luna Sea, was introduced to me by my good friend Ken.
So how did I get into the photo pit at MSG? Well..it's awesome when your younger sister works at a music magazine and knows the PR person handling this tour. I was given a photo pass AND a ticket to see the show after my work was done. Yes it was work since I was taking photos for my sister's company. Standing in the photo pit, waiting for the band to start and having to snake around other photographers to get my shot. During all that I realized...I kind of miss taking concert photos. The one awesome experience I had was when I got to travel, with other coworkers, to the Voodoo Music Experience down in New Orleans back in 2008. Ah..hello! I got to have front row viewing of R.E.M., Lil Wayne, Lupe Fiasco, Stone Temple Pilots...etc.
Also thanks to my friend Anh for lending me her telephoto lens since i traded mine for a Canon G12.
Birthday Breakfast
I took the day after my birthday off so that I could actually run errands (like do laundry). I was craving for a croissant at Bien Cuit so I went and got a few then decided to make breakfast (brunch actually). I pretty much cooked whatever was in the fridge. So there were asparagus, Brussels sprouts, an avocado, fried egg and a croissant.
I'm starting to wonder if I'm getting tired of Brussels sprouts. I love them so much that I eat waaaaaaaay too many and waaaaaaaay too often. I may need to find another veggie to obsess with.
Yes, I should've ironed the sheet out but I kind of like the wrinkles.
More Parks Less Parking Lots
A great find with Bonnie while on our way to have lunch at UMAMIcatessen in downtown LA. It's a Banksy! Seriously...we need less parking lots and more parks.
